hey i thought i should drop this little tid bit to a fellown detective. maybe it's unrelated to your case but it couldn't hurt to hear this.
so umm back in the older days of minecraft there was this "legend" and now known glich, dubbed by the community has "the error player" they named "him" that because in game his name was "H4#Ey6Rc9OT&Bk0Rw>I;(Nq8E". within people's expeculations they would say that this misterious player was a ghost (boo) that wached the player inside of their world, but never interacting with them. but what freaked most people out was that this "guy" would enter their world "when the internet was down and then leave when the internet came back." or "...after 30 minutes.". althought latter on when people got this "error player" to log in frequently, they started experimenting. until eventually people figured out that this "ghost" was actually an glich inside minecraft.
to explain the basics: whenever a player created a world and had the lan server on, every 30 minutes minecraft would do an search for each players location, sort of like an "auto save". but if you had your lan server on but you weren't connected to the internet, whenever the "player search" would happen minecraft would accidentaly create an "player" with the name "H4#Ey6Rc9OT&Bk0Rw>I;(Nq8E" and display on chat "H4#Ey6Rc9OT&Bk0Rw>I;(Nq8E has logged on". this error player would always have an completly black skin, and would never move from where it spawned, it would always spawn at your last spawn point, wich was most likely the server spawn. the error player never moved on it's own, but you could interact with it, sorta like an mannekin, and people would use this glich for videos and such.
this herobrine you talk about might be like the error player... or not. with all honesty i think herobrine and error player are connected in some way, but since herobrine has an acctual skin that doesn't look like an place holder, it doesn't sound likely
hope this helps!!!

What is so heroic about this Hero-Brine anyways? He sounds evil and bad. Why is he calling himself a hero? If you find him, give me his exact coordinates so I can fight him for the sin of false advertisement.

Well allegedly, but Notch has stated he never had a brother and on public records you can see he doesn't, also in the original story the name Herobrine comes from a forum user telling the guy to stop talking about the white-eyed entity so that might not even be its name

Day 3
So first I checked on the desert summoner, not much has honestly changed, I arrived a little later in the night so a lot of mobs were able to spawn. Nasty.
But I did make my way to the actual world spawn via dying, placing a block tower and returning to it while on my way to check the desert summoner, I'm also playing on Hard mode for those wondering.
Anyway so, I made my way back home, I used my last diamond to make a jukebox, I think I'll find and play disc 11 & 13. I'll probably finish the Basement tomorrow, if anyone cares about that. Maybe I'll post the finished product tomorrow.
Once again I'd like to ask people to give me more advice on reasonable things to do in game that might up my chances of herobrine appearing. Thank you.

seeing the detectivework done here is amazing... at the same time its kinda sad that its not bearing any results. but detectivework is a very demanding job that takes time, so don't let this slow progres get to you

the version expecific the error player glich was first found in the alpha version 1.0.16.3 until version 1.1 where they patched it. those latter alpha versions of minecraft were experimanting with online features and making all the worlds connected, but i think they scrapped it because of some "internal issues".
but since MarbleHyrbid12 seems to be using an newer version, maybe herobrine needs more set up to appear.

so i dug through my archives and all the officially hosted copies of alpha versions and a1.0.16.3 doesnt exist. in fact thats not even how the version numbers are structured for that period, theres only a1.0.16, a1.0.16_01, and a1.0.16_02. Just to be sure i booted up a1.0.17 since maybe you just got the wrong number and this version fits between that version number stuff, but there isnt even functionality to enable LAN or if there is its obscure.

Minecraft is a game of boundless creativity. To say it doesn't have longevity is idiotic!
